Saturday

I'm getting back into my creative zone.
I'm living in a constant state of inspiration + loving every minute of it.

flower crown

Thursday

Some people aren't a fan of flower crowns. I find them charming, so today I made one.
Want to make your own? You'll need:
fake flowers
wire, sized to your head
a spool of jute
wire cutters, pliers, scissors
hot glue gun
optional: leaves/vines
1. Take your wire and wrap it around your head. Triple up + securely fasten the ends.
2. Take your jute and wrap it around the wire + knot.
3. Take your flowers and arrange them how you want them on your crown.
4. Hot glue your flowers + add leaves/vines to liking.

That's it! This project took about an hour and only cost me $4.99 since I had everything else on hand.

hair and graphite.

Friday

on monday quinn made me cut his hair. and i've NEVER cut anyone's hair before...but i think i did pretty darn good. and i cut it with a regular old pair of scissors. it may have taken about two hours...but it was worth it.

my boy looks so good!
i also had a project for art. to draw shapes. and it got messy.

i'm not very good at drawing. don't know why i took a drawing class....oops.
sorry for the long hiatus again, i JUST got my camera back.
and i'm waiting on molly to finish putting seattle pictures up so i can steal them ;)

it's officially spring! | shirt diy

Saturday

happy spring everyone! sorry for the blog hiatus. between midterms, spring break, family in town, and back to school work, i just haven't had the time to post anything. and there wasn't anything interesting to post anyway. but since spring has officially arrived, here's a fun diy for you to try!

i took an OLD limited too shirt that my cousin gave me...years ago...that somehow was still lingering in a box in the basement. i really wanted to do something with it because i loved the wide stripes and it's perfect for the nautical trend right now.

cut both sleeves off. (measure to your liking)

make a small cut by the neck line. cut around the collar on the front side of the shirt.

flip it over and make a deep, plunging cut on the back side.

{front}

{back}

next, i sewed gold chains on the back so that the straps wouldn't slide off.
{my mom's hands pictured. she didn't want to take the picture of me sewing}

and viola! finished product. it's difficult trying to take pictures using natural light when it's cloudy all day...
but i'm very satisfied. it's too easy :)

love and light, xo
